Andreassen enters her third season at UAB as the throws, multis and jumps coach.
During Andreassen’s second year with the Blazers, junior Brittany Floyd earned a second place finish in the pentathlon in CUSA Indoor Championships. Her total score placed her third on the UAB indoor all time performance list. Sophomore Miren Ederra, earned a fifth place finish in the pentathlon in the CUSA Indoor Championships.
In her first season coaching with the Blazers, Andreassen made an impact with the throws and multis group. Redshirt Junior Zieandrea Bridges placing fifth at the CUSA Indoor Championships in the weight throw with a personal best throw of 18.20m (59’8.5”). Sophomore Brittany Floyd finished fifth place at CUSA Indoor Championships in the pentathlon and finished fourth place in the heptathlon at the CUSA Outdoor Championships. Floyd’s heptathlon score placed her third on the UAB outdoor all time performance list.
Before UAB, Andreassen spent five seasons at Graceland University, including her final season as the head men and women’s track and field and cross country coach. While there, she coached over 80 Heart of America Athletic Conference point scorers, six conference champions and two All-American Indoor and Outdoor athletes.
As a student-athlete at Iowa State, Andreassen competed in the heptathlon/pentathlon and was a four-time All-Big 12 Conference performer, lettering eight times for the Cyclones. She ranks third all-time in the pentathlon and heptathlon on Iowa State’s All-Time Performance List.
Andreassen graduated from Iowa State in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts sciences and earned her Master of Science in sport management in 2017.
