At Samford, Millican led communications, content, broadcast and select game operations initiatives, directing messaging for multiple Southern Conference championship teams and NCAA Tournament appearances, including men’s basketball’s trip to the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Originally hired by Samford in 2014, Millican joined the University’s central Marketing and Communication team as Assistant Director of Broadcast Media while simultaneously serving as Art Director and Graphic Designer for Samford Athletics. He later advanced to Director of Broadcast Media before moving into senior athletics leadership roles.

A Birmingham native, Millican earned his Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Samford University in 2020 and a Master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Florida in 2022. He and his wife, Becky, have three children.
