UAB enters the week in strong form, finishing in the top four of every tournament since their last event of the fall season. The Blazers have also produced two individual champions this spring, as Alejandro Fierro captured individual championship honors at the Golfweek/Stifel Men's Spring Challenge in April, while Erik Olin claimed the title at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate in February.
The Blazers have also established themselves as one of the top teams in the league, not finishing behind any other American Athletic Conference opponent in a tournament this spring. That consistency has translated into one of the program's most successful seasons in recent memory, highlighted by its highest number of top-three finishes since the 2015-16 campaign. UAB has finished runner-up in three times this season.
Most recently, the Blazers built additional momentum with a victory over Chattanooga at "The Match at the Ledges."
"All of the work the guys have put in this year and all of the positions we have put ourselves in, in tournament play has set us up for this week," head coach Charlie Hoyle said. "We have had a great run of form this spring and we are playing up close to our potential. We are excited for the chance to compete this week and will make the most of the opportunity."
