22 WINS: Blazers Set New Program Record for Single Season Wins

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - It was a historic day at the UAB Beach Volleyball Courts on Friday as UAB (22-9, 5-0) set a program record for wins in a single season with its 21st and 22nd victories. The Blazers also extended their winning streak to a school-record 12 matches.

UAB opened the day with a 5-0 victory over ULM (6-19), highlighted by a pair of individual milestones. On Court 4, the duo of Isabel Day and Claudia Stockard defeated Brook Bankston and Maddie Peterson in straight sets. The win marked the 50th of Day's career, making her the ninth player in program history to reach the milestone.

On Court 3, Olivia Chychrun and Ava Grace Knott defeated Katie Felts and Paige Ingersoll, 2-0. Chychrun recorded her 70th career victory, moving into a tie for third on UAB's all-time individual wins list.

In the second match of the day, the Blazers earned a 3-2 victory over Conference USA foe Tulane (17-11, 1-4). It marked UAB's second win over the Green Wave this season. The match was clinched on Court 5, where Sadie Sharpe and Ashley Torsone defeated McKenzie Cutler and Sam O'Connor, 2-0.

UAB also secured wins on Courts 1 and 4, highlighted by a dramatic three-set victory from Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant over Molly Trod and Skylar Ensign. The win marked Haas' 91st career victory, while Stant earned her 78th.

The Blazers close out the regular season Saturday with matches against Houston Christian (7-20) at noon and Mercer (4-20) at 4 p.m. UAB will honor its three seniors — Olivia Chychrun, Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant — prior to its match against Houston Christian.
