The 24 wins mark the most single-season victories in program history. It is also the first time UAB has finished conference play undefeated. The Blazers have now won 14 consecutive matches heading into the Conference USA Championship, set for April 23-25 in Youngsville, Louisiana.
UAB opened the day with a 3-2 victory over Houston Christian (8-21). The Blazers secured wins on Courts 1, 4 and 5. On Court 1, Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant earned a straight-set victory, while Isabel Day and Claudia Stockard picked up a 2-0 win on Court 4 over Emma Chappell and Dariya Tlevlessova. The clinching point came on Court 5, where Sadie Sharpe and Ashley Torsone defeated Mycah Whittemore and Clau Verdejo Lozano in straight sets.
In the second match, UAB defeated Mercer (4-23), 4-1, earning wins on Courts 1, 3, 4 and 5.
Several records and milestones were achieved during the weekend. Olivia Chychrun now ranks third all-time in program history with 71 career victories. Jasmine Haas leads the program with 93 career wins, while Olivia Stant ranks second with 80.
The duo of Haas and Stant also recorded their 25th and 26th wins of the season, tying their own program record for single-season victories by a pair. Claudia Stockard set the single-season record for wins on Court 4 with 16, while her partner, Isabel Day, has 14 wins this season on Court 4, which ranks second in program history.
Saturday's matches also marked the final home contests for UAB's three seniors — Olivia Chychrun, Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant — who will conclude their careers as the three winningest players in program history.
"This is the most impactful senior class in our program's history," head coach Delaney Rose said. "Jazzie, Liv and Chyckie have left their mark in every way — in the record book, in our culture and in the foundation they've built for the future. We're so thankful for everything they've poured into UAB."
