SCOUTING THE BRUINS
The Belmont Bruins are led by Dave Jarvis who is in his 29th season as the leader of the Bruins' program. So far this season, Belmont has a win at Middle Tennessee, 8-7, in a midweek battle. The Bruins come to Birmingham with six qualified hitters that have a batting average over .295. Jake Maddox is sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference with a .347 batting average. Tate Marland ranks seventh in the league with a 3.37 ERA.

- The Blazers are third in the league with a .981 fielding percentage, .002 behind Charlotte, who leads the conference in that category.

- John Paul Head leads The American in home runs (10) and total bases (55). He also ranks second with a 1.336 OPS.

- Freshman RHP Carter Samuelson is slated to make his first career start on Saturday.
