BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Blazers return to action this weekend in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the Tiger Beach Challenge. A strong field awaits, with three ranked teams among the seven-team tournament lineup. UAB opens play Friday against No. 18 Washington at 9:15 a.m. before facing ULM at 6 p.m. later that evening. On Saturday, UAB meets its first Conference USA opponent of the season in Tulane, which is ranked No. 19 in the CBVB poll. The Blazers close the tournament Saturday at 2:15 p.m. against Houston Christian.
50 CAREER WINS FOR CHYCHRUN:
Senior Olivia Chychrun earned her 50th career victory against North Alabama, becoming the third player on UAB's 2026 roster to reach the milestone. She joins Jasmine Haas (70) and Olivia Stant (56) among the program's active 50-match winners. Partnering with true freshman Ava Grace Knott, Chychrun posted a 3-2 record in Tallahassee to open the season.
HAAS ONE WIN AWAY FROM HISTORY:
Senior Jasmine Haas recorded three victories this weekend, moving within one win of UAB's individual career wins record. Her 70 career wins tie Arden Copping (2020-24) for the program lead. Haas and Copping previously teamed up for 29 career victories, which rank tied for third in program history for a duo- matching the total Haas has compiled with her current partner, Olivia Stant. The record for most career wins as a duo is 35, held by Sara Rishell and Rachel Fairbanks.
