Women’s Basketball Falls at Home Against Florida Atlantic

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's basketball (7-9, 0-4 American) fell to Florida Atlantic (7-9, 1-3 American) 70-63 on Saturday afternoon at Bartow Arena.
Four players recorded double digit points against the Owls. Sofia Munoz led the Blazers with 16 points. Molly Moffitt followed behind with 15 points and nine rebounds. Eleecia Carter totaled 11 points while Cali Smallwood came away with 10 points.
Vivian Onugha led Florida Atlantic with 15 points while Grace Carstensen tallied 12 points. Madi Gewirtz and Zahira Arizmendi each registered 10 points.

- UAB continued to chip away and cut the margin to five late in the quarter [50-45].

- The Blazers answered with strong play to get back with single digits [66-57].
- The Owls capitalized at the free throw line and on offensive rebounds to keep separation [69-59].
- Despite the late push, UAB wasn't able to close the gap [70-63].
