Rice Pulls Away Late to Defeat UAB

HOUSTON, Texas – UAB women's basketball (7-10, 0-5 American) dropped 76-56 at Rice (14-3, 4-0 American) on Wednesday night at Tudor Fieldhouse.
Monae' Duffy led the Blazers with 13 points while adding six rebounds. Eleecia Carter and Molly Moffitt each recorded 11 points.
Rice was led by Dominique Ennis with 19 points while Shelby Hayes followed behind with 18 points. Hailey Adams tallied 10 points on the night.

- Rice answered each run and added some distance from UAB to close the frame [52-44].
- The quarter opened with six turnovers with both teams committing turnovers until Carter made a jump shot to start the scoring [52-46].
- The Owls answered with a 9-1 run to extend the lead to double digits [61-47].
- Rice was able to hold onto its double digit lead the rest of the frame and had its biggest lead of the game [76-55].
