Blazers to Compete in Firehawk Invitational Saturday Morning

BIRMINGHAM - UAB Cross Country continues its season on Saturday after a three week hiatus. The Blazers will compete in the Firehawk Invitational hosted by the University of Tennessee-Southern. The women's 6K race is slated to begin at 9:20 a.m. at Oakville Indian Mounds Park in Danville, Alabama.
THE LAST TIME OUT
The Green and Gold are fresh off a third place finish out of 21 teams at the Foothills Invitational on August 29. Katie Keur (6th) and Lidia Longo (9th) each set their 5K personal-bests to pace the Blazers in Oxford. Lia Castillo, Sangie Lincoln-Velez, and Kyra Hayes rounded out the top five for UAB contributing to the third consecutive top three team finish at the meet.

Saturday's 6K race is the first for the Blazers since the NCAA South Regional meet last season.

The Blazers have never competed in a meet at Oakville Indian Mounds Park or a meet hosted by UT Southern.
