Cross Country Places Third at Foothills Invitational

OXFORD - For the third consecutive season, UAB Cross Country brought home a third place finish at the Foothills Invitational in Oxford. Three Blazers finished in the top 15 of the meet.
Among the three were Katie Keur (6th), Lidia Longo (9th), and Lia Castillo (14th). Additionally, Sangie Lincoln-Velez (22nd) and Kyra Hayes (25th) rounded out the top 5 finishers for the Green and Gold to contribute to the third place finish out of 21 teams.
Keur, an Oxford native, beat her personal best by five seconds. Longo (60 seconds), Castillo (14 seconds), Lincoln-Velez (34 seconds), and Kaitlyn Wende (18 seconds) all set their personal bests on Friday. Kylie Gero, Savannah Meyer, and Emma Kate Alexander all finished under the 20-minute mark in their first collegiate meets.
UAB will look to continue its momentum into their next meet at Oakville Indian Mounds State Park in Danville, Alabama hosted by UT Southern. The meet is September 20 at 9:20 a.m. Access to live results and meet info will be posted at a later date.
