UAB Hosts Mississippi State on Tuesday Night

BIRMINGHAM - UAB Baseball (18-14) hosts Mississippi State (19-13) at 6 pm on Tuesday night at Young Memorial Field. The Blazers are looking for their first win against the Bulldogs since 2011, which was a 6-4 victory for the Green and Gold at home.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Mississippi State Bulldogs come into Tuesday's matchup 4-6 in their last 10 games, including a series win against South Carolina over the weekend. The 'Dawgs' probable starting pitcher, Noah Sullivan, is also the team's leading hitter with a .355 average. MSU ranks sixth in the SEC in batting average and ERA. The Maroon and White are 5-8 away from home this season.

SAAC Night & Blazers Supporting Blazers will be the featured promotion for the game! Free food will be provided for UAB student-athletes and coaches while supplies last, courtesy of Mellow Mushroom! Food will be served at 5:30 PM in the grass area on the 3rd base side. UAB student-athletes and coaches are encouraged to wear their team gear.
It will also be UAB Housing Night! On-campus residents can be entered for giveaways by showing a valid ONE Card with a hall sticker.
UAB will also welcome back Ron Polk to throw out the first pitch. Polk served as an assistant coach for the UAB baseball program from 2009-2020. Prior to his time at UAB, Polk served as Mississippi State's head baseball coach for 29 seasons. Additionally, he completed seven tours as a member of the coaching staff for the USA National Baseball Team, twice serving as head coach. Two of the teams he coached represented the United States in the Olympics.
Polk is also a member of the College Baseball Hall of Fame and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Hall of Fame.
SEATING ARRANGEMENTS
Fans are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and are permitted to sit on each foul line at Young Memorial Field. Grandstand seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
