UAB Hosts UTSA This Weekend at YMF

BIRMINGHAM - UAB (17-12) hosts UTSA (23-8) this weekend in a 3-game series at Young Memorial Field. The Blazers have won back-to-back games including a 4-2 win over No. 16 Auburn on Tuesday.

THE LAST TIME OUT
UAB traveled to Auburn on Tuesday night and took down the 16th ranked Tigers. It was the first win at Auburn since 2019 for the Green and Gold and the first season series sweep over the Tigers since 1980. Todd Clay hit a 4th inning 2-run home run against his hometown team. Four Blazer relievers combined to shut out the Tigers over the final five innings and picked up a huge 4-2 win.
THIS TIME LAST YEAR
The Blazers traveled to San Antonio to take on the Roadrunners in a 3-game series on April 19-21. UTSA took two out of three games from UAB. Mayes White went a combined 5-12 with 2 RBI and a run scored in the series.
SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS
UTSA comes to Birmingham winners of seven of their last 10. The Roadrunners boast wins at No. 8 Texas and at No. 14 Texas A&M this season. After dropping their first American Conference game, UTSA has won five conference games in a row since then. The Roadrunners come in 23-8 but are 6-7 away from home.
SERIES HISTORY
UTSA leads the overall series, 11-6. UTSA also leads the series in Birmingham, 6-4.

A canned food/household supplies drive benefiting Blazer Kitchen will be the featured promotion for the series finale on Sunday! Fans that bring canned goods and/or household supplies to Sunday's game can purchase tickets at the gate for $3 each. Blazer Kitchen's most needed items are toilet paper and dish soap.
Sunday's game will also include the Kids Run the Bases promotion! Kids ages 12 and under will have the chance to run the bases at Young Memorial Field following the conclusion of Sunday's game.
