BIRMINGHAM, AL – The UAB Softball team (22-26, 8-13) is set to host East Carolina (25-23, 10-11) for a three-game series starting on Friday at 5:30 p.m. The Blazers will host Senior Day after the game on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
UAB swept West Georgia in a midweek double header on Wednesday, scoring the most runs since 2021 with 17. East Carolina lost a very close midweek game against North Carolina State 3-4.
BETWEEN THE LINES
This could be a vital series in the AAC standings with UAB is currently in seventh place in the AAC standings, while East Carolina sits in sixth place two games ahead of UAB. The Blazers are hosting their last three home games of the season concluding on Sunday with senior day.
ECU has played 10 Power Four opponents including the #18 ranked Duke Blue Devils. The Pirates have just two conference wins against UTSA and Memphis and have only been swept once by FAU. UAB has series wins over Memphis, Tulsa, and UTSA, but have been swept twice against North Texas and FAU.
MILESTONES
Hannah Miles got her 100th career hit at North Texas last weekend. Lindsey Smith moved into second all-time in UAB history for career doubles (40). Bella Wiggins hit her 14th career triple and is now first all-time in UAB Softball history.

The history between UAB and East Carolina runs very close because of the ties to Conference USA. ECU leads by a very close margin of 23-24. The Blazers have not played ECU at home since 2013 when UAB won the series 2-1 finishing with a final score of 11-8. UAB won the last series 2-1 after winning both games one and two by a score of 3-2.
