The Blazers Host Florida Atlantic for Senior Night

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's basketball (19-10, 12-4 AAC) will host Florida Atlantic (16-13, 9-7 AAC) on Thursday night at Bartow Arena for Senior Night. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT.
Approximately 20 minutes prior to the start of Thursday's game, UAB will recognize Chance Beard, Christian Coleman, Ryan Donohoo, Yaxel Lendeborg, Tyren Moore, Tony Toney, and Alejandro Vasquez as a part of the Senior Day festivities.
The first 1,000 fans at the game will have the opportunity to receive trading cards of each of the seniors. Included among the packs will be special edition autographed cards.
WATCH
Thursday's game will air on ESPN2 with John Schriffen and Ron Slay on the call.
LISTEN
David Crane and Steve Mitchell will call the game for the Blazers on 100.5 ESPN.
SERIES HISTORY
The Blazers lead the all-time series 15-6, including an 8-0 mark at Bartow Arena. UAB won the first meeting this season in Boca Raton by a score of 81-76.
LAST TIME OUT
UAB fell at home to No. 18 Memphis, 88-81, on Sunday. The Blazers lead for most of the game, but the Tigers were able to pull away late. Ja'Borri McGhee scored 22 points while shooting 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.
APPROACHING HISTORY
The Blazers have won 120 games over the last five seasons, tying the program record for the most wins over any five-year stretch. The previous record of 120 was set from 2019-24. UAB has also surpassed the most wins over a five-year stretch with one head coach, previously set from 1981-86 when the Blazers won 117 games under Gene Bartow.
1,000 POINT SCORERS
Tyren Moore reached the 1,000 point mark on Tuesday, January 21 against UTSA and Alejandro Vasquez reached the mark on Sunday, March 2 against Memphis. Moore began his career at Georgia Southern where he scored 862 points over two seasons while Vasquez began his career at St. Bonaventure. Yaxel Lendeborg is also approaching the 1,000 point mark despite only playing two seasons. Lendeborg would be the fifth player in UAB history to reach 1,000 points as a Blazers within his first two seasons as a Blazer, joining Andy Kennedy, Robert Vaden, Robert Shannon, and Jordan Walker.
GET TO THE LINE
The Blazers were one of the best teams in the country at getting to the charity stripe in 2023-24, finishing eighth in the country in free throws made per game at 17.8. This year, the Blazers are again getting to the free throw line at a high rate. UAB is 74th in the nation with 15.6 free throws made per game and 52nd in the country at 75.8 percent from the charity stripe.
THIRSTY THURSDAY
For Thursday night's game against Florida Atlantic, fans will be able to purchase $5 domestics as a part of Thirsty Thursday.
