ATLANTA, GA. - UAB Track & Field put together strong results at Georgia Tech's Yellow Jacket Invitational in Atlanta this weekend. The Blazers set 10 PRs, put together 13 top 10 finishes, and won two events (400m Hurdles and Steeplechase).
"We had a positive outdoor season opener," said Head Coach Kurt Thomas. "There's always a transition for every team with outdoor, with new and longer events from indoor so we're still adjusting in a few areas. But everyone came out and competed hard and it showed. Lots of PRs, lots of top 10 finishes, some very quality marks in the steeplechase and 400m hurdles and lots of performances we can build off of. I'm proud of them and we're excited to compete in front of friends and family next weekend at our home meet."
In the Shot Put, Birthe Franck-Petersen missed tying the Outdoor school record by .01 meters, but still marked a personal best throw of 13.65m.
