Blazers Travel to Atlanta for Yellow Jacket Invitational

BIRMINGHAM - UAB Track & Field opens the Outdoor portion of the schedule as it travels to Atlanta this weekend for the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Georgia Tech at George C. Griffin Track.
THE LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers hosted the AAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex. Christiana Mudd set another school record for points in an Indoor Pentathlon with 4009 points. She set a PR in four of the five events and placed 3rd overall on the day.
The Blazers' 4x400 team posted their season best time coming in at 3:45.04. Quingostas, Mudd, Jasmine Dereje, and Washington helped post the fourth best Indoor 4x400 time in school history.
THE FIELD
UAB is one of 16 teams competing this weekend in Atlanta. Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Missouri are among teams in the field.
THIS TIME LAST YEAR
Gabby Washington clocked the 5th best 100 meter dash time in the event. Taylor Washington won Section 4 of the 200 meter dash. Jasmine Dereje placed 3rd in the 400 meter Hurdles.
NEW FACES SHOWING OUT
The Blazers have several newcomers on this year's team, and each have had no problem making an immediate impact. Along with Mudd, Hope Foster, Destiny Roper, and Leticia Quingostas look to continue their early season success into the homestretch.
