MTSU Comes to Town for Softball Midweek Action

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Softball team (10-13) will host Middle Tennessee State (9-14), in a rescheduled midweek game from last week, on Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m.
UAB comes off their first conference series of the year against South Florida. The Blazers won game one before dropping the final two games of the series. The top of the lineup has been dominant as Bella Wiggins, Hannah Dorsett, Hope Tucker, and Lindsey Smith have been a force all with an OB% above .333. Lindsey Smith has driven in 19 runs in the third or fourth spot in the lineup.
UAB starts an eight-game home stand including two conference series and two midweeks. UAB is 8-13 all-time against the Blue Raiders including a win in their last matchup in 2023 that saw 17 total runs. MTSU had won four straight games before the Sunday win two years ago. MTSU and UAB used to be in the Conference USA together before the Blazers joined the American.

SERIES HISTORY
MTSU leads the series 13-8. MTSU won the last series 2-1, but UAB won the last matchup 10-7 in 2023. MTSU won the last four games before UAB's win in 2023.
LAST MEETING
UAB won the last meeting scoring four runs in the fourth and 10 runs total. This was UAB's final year competing in Conference USA where MTSU would meet frequently on the Diamond.
