Mudd Repeats as Heptathlon School Record Holder, Multiple Blazers Crack Top 10 at UAB

BIRMINGHAM - UAB Track & Field competed in the AAC Indoor Championships this weekend at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Christiana Mudd kicked off the weekend with her PR time in the 60m Hurdles Pentathlon. Mudd placed first in the field with a time of 8.51, which is the fourth fastest Indoor 60m Hurdle time in school history. Mudd would set her PR in the High Jump as well with a mark of 1.59m. Her third PR of the day came in the Shot Put where she placed second in the event thanks to a mark of 12.83m. Mudd's final PR of the day came in the 800m with a time of 2:19.48. The grad student from Fort Worth, Texas finished her final Indoor pentathlon with 4009 points and placed third in the event. Mudd also broke her own school record for points in a Pentathlon. Mudd ranks 31st in the country for Pentathlon points this season.
Leticia Quingostas set her PR time in the 400m Prelims with a time of 56.47. Her time now ranks eighth in school history.
Gabby Washington now holds the fifth best Indoor 200m time coming in at 24.64. Washington has two of the top five Indoor 200m performances in school history.
The quartet of Sangie Lincoln-Velez, Leticia Qunigostas, Regina Harris, and Lidia Longo placed fifth in the Distance Relay. Their time of 11:51.46 is now the 93rd best time in Division 1 this season.
Hope Foster continued her great season in the High Jump. The freshman set a mark of 1.65m on Saturday which is good for a tie for seventh in school history.
Corinne Ball competed in the Triple Jump for the Blazers and finished with a mark of 11.83m. She now holds the 10th best Triple Jump mark in school history.
The Blazers' 4x400 team posted their season best time coming in at 3:45.04. Quingostas, Mudd, Jasmine Dereje, and Washington helped post the fourth best Indoor 4x400 time in school history on Saturday.
The Green and Gold begin their Outdoor season on March 21-22 in Atlanta, Ga as they compete in the Georgia Tech Invite.
