BIRMINGHAM – Five Blazers finished in double figures as UAB men's basketball (18-9, 11-3 AAC) downed Temple (14-14, 6-9 AAC) by a score of 80-64 on Sunday afternoon.

Tony Toney got the Blazers started early with 14 points in the first half. He hit each of his first three three-point attempts to put UAB ahead 14-13 after six minutes.

With the Blazers trailing 22-21 with 9:49 remaining in the first half, UAB went on a 12-3 run with Ja'Borri McGhee scoring or assisting nine of the 12 Blazer points.

Tyren Moore's three in the final minute put the Blazers ahead 41-32 heading into the break.

Yaxel Lendeborg got the scoring started in the second half with a one-handed dunk to put UAB ahead by 11 and the Blazers led by double-digits for the rest of the contest.

The Blazers opened the second half on a 10-2 run to extend their lead to 17 points and remained in control for the remainder of the contest. Ja'Borri McGhee scored 10 of his 13 points in the second half to help UAB pull away.

Temple cut the UAB lead to 10 points with 5:58 remaining, but the Owls were unable to get within single digits.

Bradley Ezewiro helped UAB close out the 80-64 win, scoring eight of his 15 points in the last five minutes of the game, including three dunks.

Ezewiro scored 15 points while grabbing seven rebounds.
Yaxel Lendeborg scored 13 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out eight assists, finishing just two assists shy of a triple-double for the second time this season.
Ja'Borri McGhee recorded his first double-double as a Blazer, scoring 13 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out seven assists with two steals.
Tony Toney scored 14 points while hitting four threes in the win.
Christian Coleman scored 12 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots.
The Blazers have won 11-straight games when they score at least 80 points.
UAB is 16-3 when scoring at least 80 points this season.
UAB now leads the all-time series against Temple 4-3.

The Blazers will travel to Wichita State on Thursday night to face the Shockers, who have won six-straight. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
