USA is led by Mark Calvi who is in his 14th season as head skipper. Calvi reached the 400-win mark in the win against Kent State on Saturday.
SERIES HISTORY
South Alabama leads the overall series 2-1, and 1-0 in Birmingham.
CD NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Junior right-handed pitcher Colin Daniel has been named American Conference Pitcher of the Week after his performance on Saturday in a 7-6 victory over Towson. The Preseason American Conference Pitcher of the Year tossed seven innings and allowed two runs in his season debut while striking out four, walking one and earning the win. Daniel faced four batters or less in five of his seven innings of work on just 87 pitches. He forced a ground out on 12 of his 21 outs. This is the first time Daniel has been named American Conference Pitcher of the week in his career, and the fifth conference honor overall.
NEW SEASON, OLD FACES
The Blazers have 25 newcomers on this year's roster, but it's been the returning players that have started the year hot. Before the series start against South Alabama, Logan Braunschweig is slashing .538/.684/.923, going 7-for-13 in four games with an OPS of 1.607, adding seven runs scored, six RBI, two doubles, and an inside-the-park home run.

HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Senior OF Logan Braunschweig has been a force on the bases since his arrival in 2022. The Alabaster, Ala. native has reached base in 32 consecutive games, which is the longest active streak in the American Conference.
