Women’s Basketball Travels to Temple on Tuesday

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's basketball travels to Temple on Tuesday, February 11. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. CT and will air live on ESPN+.
The Blazers enter Saturday's contest 15-9 overall and 6-6 in conference play, while the Owls are 13-10 on the season and 7-5 in league play. The game marks the third time the two teams have faced each other and the second time this season. Temple leads the all-time series 2-0. The Owls earned a 97-74 win at Bartow Arena on December 29.
Temple is coming off a 64-57 loss against South Florida on Saturday, while UAB defeated Charlotte 86-80 on Saturday.
Jade Weathersby scored a career-high 27 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the paint and hit a scoring milestone, earning 500 career points against the 49ers. Maddie Walsh recorded 20 points, while Tracey Bershers tallied 14 points. Molly Moffitt also scored in double digits with 12 points.
After trailing in the first half, The Green and Gold shot 53 percent in the third to give the UAB a 64-59 lead going into the last frame. Weathersby provided 11 points and T. Bershers had eight points to assists in the Blazers big third quarter.
Walsh leads UAB with 12.7 points per game while Journey Armstead is following behind with 10.8 points. Weathersby is averaging 10.3 points while Sara Bershers is recording 9.3 points per game. T. Bershers is registering 6.4 points and Moffitt is averaging 5.7 points per game. Weathersby is leading in the rebound category with 9.0 per game.
Offensively, Temple is led by Tiarra East (13.7 ppg) and Tarriyonna Gary (12.2 ppg).
