Des Moines, Iowa. – The UAB men's basketball team (7-3) beat Drake (6-3) on the road Friday night 74-69. UAB was led by 16 points from Ahmad Robinson and 14 points from KyeRon Lindsay-Martin. Lindsay-Martin put together a double-double performance with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Andy Kennedy is now 8-5 against Missouri Valley Conference teams.
Salim London made his first career start. London is the first freshman to start for UAB since Jalen Benjamin on March 3, 2020. Benjamin made 26 starts during the 2019-20 season.

Drake went on an 8-2 run with two made threes to tie the game at 15.
The Bulldogs started out 6-of-6 from the free throw line including two made by Jalen Quinn [24-24].
UAB held strong defensively on the last possession of the half holding on to a one-point lead at halftime [33-32].
Okku Federiko gave Drake their first lead of the game at the 18:57 mark of the second half.
Drake went on a 10-2 run after that and opened up their biggest lead of the game at five [44-39].
Evan Chatman capped off a 7-0 UAB run with a basket and a free throw [48-47].
Six different Blazers scored within a four-minute span ending with an Ahmad Robinson fastbreak lay in [66-60].
A couple of free throws by Jalen Quinn put the Bulldogs within two [68-66].
Two clutch free throws by Chance Westry gave UAB a coveted four-point lead with 22.5 on the clock [73-69].
