Blazers Fall in Overtime Battle at East Carolina, 88-87

GREENVILLE, N.C. – UAB women's basketball (7-6, 0-1 American) came up short in a dramatic overtime battle at East Carolina (9-5, 1-0 American), falling 88-87 on Tuesday night at Minges Coliseum to begin conference play.
Four Blazers scored in double figures with Monae' Duffy leading the way by registering 22 points and a career-high 19 rebounds for a double-double. Cali Smallwood recorded 19 points while Sofia Munoz tallied 16 points, five rebounds and four assists. Molly Moffitt came away with 12 points and five rebounds. Journey Armstead led UAB with 11 assists and added seven points.
The Pirates were led by Keanna Rembert with 27 points and 11 rebounds, while Savannah Brooks recorded 13 points and Kennedy Fauntleroy tallied 12 points.
