LAST TIME OUT

Sofia Munoz (24 points) Cali Smallwood (16 points), Monae' Duffy (14 points) and Molly Moffitt (12 points) all scored in double figures to lead the UAB offense in the 81-73 loss at Southern Miss on Dec. 7.
The game featured 18 lead changes and 11 ties with both teams holding eight-point leads at different points.
Duffy recorded her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Duffy's 12 rebounds matched her career-high for the fifth time.
Munoz reached a career-best 24 points, four three-pointers and six free throws.
Smallwood's seven rebounds were a career-high for the junior.
UAB shot 44 percent from the field, 31 percent from three and 76 percent from the free throw line.
The Blazers led more than 20 minutes and had a five-point lead going into the fourth, but a 26-point final frame from USM flipped the control.

SCOUTING ALCORN STATE

Alcorn State is 3-5 on the season and defeated Rust College 72-32 on Dec. 1.
Nakia Cheatham leads the Braves with 13.8 points per game, while Maya Hunkin-Claytor is averaging 9.9 points.

SERIES HISTORY

The Blazers face Alcorn State for the eighth time in program history.
The Green and Gold lead the series 7-0 are 5-0 when playing at Bartow Arena.
The last matchup took place on Dec. 15, 2024, where UAB earned a 76-51 win.
