UAB Hosts South Florida on Senior Day at Protective Stadium

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB football program will honors 29 seniors this Saturday, Nov. 22, against South Florida in its final home game of 2025 at Protective Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Blazers look to finish the season strong against a South Florida team that ranks fourth nationally in total offense (492.3) and fifth in scoring offense (41.6).
Who: UAB (3-7, 1-5 American) vs. South Florida (7-3, 4-2 American)
Where: Protective Stadium – Birmingham, Ala.
When: Saturday, Nov. 22 – 2 p.m.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
- The 29 graduating seniors that will honored prior to kickoff are: Josh Baka, Sirad Bryant, Jalen Cheek, Tamarion Crumpley, Perry Fisher, Baron Franks II, Connor Harby, Brandon Hawkins Jr., Jevon Jackson, Isaiah Jacobs, Jalen Kitna, Donald Lee, Adam Lepkowski, Aron Marsch, Evan McCray, T'Sai McDaniel, JonDarius Morgan, Amorie Morrison, Calib Perez, Calvin Pitcher, Jamichael Rogers, Pierre Royster, Peter Simmons, Demarcus Smith, James Smyre, Nigel Tate, Eddy Toussom, Jax Van Zandt and Denver Warren.
- Despite being eliminated from College Football Playoff contention last week, South Florida has still had a very strong season with impressive wins over Florida and Boise State. USF has spent time in the Top 25 but fell out last week after a 41-38 loss at Navy.
- Dynamic quarterback Bynum Brown leads a potent USF offense as the team's leading passer (2,530 yards, 21 touchdowns) and leading rusher (951 yards gained, 841 net, 11 touchdowns).
- South Florida's rushing offense is 11th nationally with an average of 224.2 yards per game. The Blazers allowed 208 rushing yards last week against North Texas and enter the contest 119th in rushing defense at 190.4 per game.
- In his first full game back, Jalen Kitna threw for 281 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against North Texas. Prior to his injury on Oct. 11, Kitna was on pace to set the single season school record for passing yards allowed but still enters Saturday's game with 2,066 passing yards and 11 touchdowns.
- Kitna's top two receivers in Iverson Hooks and Brandon Hawkins Jr. have had very strong seasons catching the ball. Hooks has 57 catches for 735 yards and six touchdowns, and his 57 receptions currently ranks him seventh on UAB's single season list. Hawkins has 38 catches for 500 yards and has scored a touchdown in each of the last three games.
- Looks for Hooks and Hawkins Jr. to be featured throughout the game against a USF passing defense that is 123rd nationally by allowing 267.4 yards per game through the air.
- Runing back Jevon Jackson is also having a strong season and is coming off his second 100-yard performance of the season with 159 yards against North Texas. A senior transfer from Austin Peay/UTEP, Jackson has led UAB's backfield all season with 128 carries for 751 yards (5.9 YPC) and three touchdowns.
Following South Florida, UAB concludes the 2025 season with an away game at Tulsa. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
