BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team is set to host the Graeme McDowell Invitational this Sunday-Tuesday, Sept. 22-24, at Limestone Springs in Oneonta, Ala.

The Blazers welcome 14 teams to Limestone Springs, including Evansville, ULM, LSU (Individuals), Alabama (individuals), Louisiana Tech, Troy, North Alabama, Lamar, Samford, Lipscomb USC Upstate, Alabama State, Memphis and Jacksonville State.

UAB Head Coach Charlie Hoyle will field a team consisting of sophomore Morgan Slaton, freshmen Bernhard Koster and Jonathan Ericsson, senior Paul Bruce and junior John Bruce. Additionally, Will Stelt, Trace Bracknell and Blayne Armstrong will compete as individuals.

Slaton is coming off the best collegiate finish of his career in the season opening tournament in which he shot 71 (-1), 70 (-2), 72 € for a career low three under 213. Slaton finished tied for fifth overall.

The field will play 18 holes each day beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the final round concluding on Tuesday. UAB is paired with Louisiana Tech and ULM in the first round.
