BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's soccer (2-1-2) returns to action on Sunday, September 15 at Georgia Southern (3-0-1). Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT.

SERIES HISTORY
UAB leads the all-time series with a 3-2-3 record all-time against Georgia Southern. However, the Blazers are looking for their first win in the series since 2017.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLAZERS
UAB finished with a 1-1 draw against Stetson on Monday. Humphrey Doh put the Blazers ahead in the first minute, but the Hatters were able to respond in the second half. Stetson's goal was the first goal allowed by UAB in open play.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Georgia Southern has shown an ability to score goals in 2024 and will test the UAB back line. The Eagles averaged 2.00 goals per game this season and they are led by forward Ryan Holmes, who has five goals this season.
STRONG ON THE BACK LINE
The UAB defense has been strong throughout the 2024 season. Newcomers Chris McKenna, Mathis Richter, Ole Jessen and Simon Helt have added strength to the back line in addition to returner Gustavo Barbosa. Chris McKenna earned American Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors after UAB's shutout win over North Florida.
MUNTEANU EARNS WEEKLY HONORS
UAB goalkeeper Jonathan Munteanu earned American Conference Goalkeeper of the Week
honors on Sept. 2 for his performances against Georgia State and Northern Kentucky. Munteanu has allowed only one open play goal this season.
