PHILADELPHIA – UAB men's basketball was firing on all cylinders on Thursday night in Philadelphia, cruising to a 100-72 win over Temple. Five Blazers scored in double figures and four players scored at least 17 points in the win.

The Blazers took control with a 23-4 run in the first half and did not look back. Christian Coleman scored 12 of his career high 19 points in the first 20 minutes while causing havoc on the defensive end. Eric Gaines added 10 points and Yaxel Lendeborg had a double double with 10 points and 10 boards in the first half alone.

Alejandro Vasquez helped UAB separate even more in the second half with 15 points after the break. The Blazers opened the period shooting 7-for-7 from beyond the arc. The Blazer lead extended to as many as 33 points.

The Blazers scored 53 points in the second half to reach 100 points for the first time this season in the 100-72 win. UAB has scored 100 points at least once in every season under Andy Kennedy.

NOTES

Eric Gaines recorded his second double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 assists. He shot 3-for-6 from beyond the arc in the contest.
Yaxel Lendeborg recorded his 15^th double-double of the year with 19 points and 14 rebounds. He also dished out four assists in the win.
Alejandro Vasquez scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half while shooting 3-for-3 from three.
Christian Coleman scored a career high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds in only 23 minutes.
Daniel Ortiz scored in double figures for the 11^th time this season with 12 points on 4-for-5 shooting from the field.
The 28-point margin of victory is the Blazers' largest this season.
UAB is only the fourth team ever to score 100 points at Temple, joining Kentucky, Villanova and Wake Forest.
The Blazers outrebounded Temple, 41-19, which is the most UAB has outrebounded an opponent since December 18, 2022 against Southern.
Yaxel Lendeborg moved into sixth in UAB history in single-season rebounds with 310, passing Jerome Mincy's 1985-86 season. He is 20 boards away from the single season record set by Trey Jemison in 2022-23.
Lendeborg also moved into sole possession of 10th on UAB's single season blocks list.
