UAB Track & Field Concludes First Days of Bulldog Relays

STARKVILLE -- UAB Track & Field concluded days one and two of the Mississippi State Alumni Bulldog Relays. The Green and Gold finished with four top-eight finishes, including some notable freshman performances.
Thursday afternoon began with field events, where Tia Espinoza finished eighth in the discus with a throw of 38.57m, an outdoor season best. On the track, freshmen Jasmine Dereje and Gabby Washington both finished in the top half of the pack in the 400m, with Washington finishing fourth with a time of 56.29. Dereje followed Washington with a seventh-place finish in the same event.
In addition to Espinoza's performance in throws, Corinne Ball finished sixth in triple jump with 11.32m.
