UAB Baseball Wins Series in Game Two Against Lindenwood

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB baseball team battled with Lindenwood in the second game of a three game series. The Blazers won a 7-4 contest with four total home runs.

Game two started off much different than the first game did with seven total runs in the first three innings. Lindenwood got on the board first with two runs in the 1st inning on a home run to left field. The Blazers then struck back quickly with one run of their own in the 2nd. Brayton Brown sent a solo shot to left field.

Four more runs came in the 3rd inning, one from Lindenwood and three from UAB. The Blazers were able to take the lead thanks to back to back home runs by Brayton Brown. He finished the day with two home runs and four RBIs.

UAB put up two more runs in the 5th inning when Brown hit a double down the right field line that scored Logan Braunschweig and Darryl Buggs. Buggs went two for three and two runs scored.

Brooks House, Chase Ingram, and Christian Clack came in and provided relief for starting pitcher Braxton Shelton. House, Ingram, and Clack gave up just one run and only two hits in three innings pitched.

Lindenwood grabbed another run in the 7th inning before a home run by Tyler Waugh. Waugh sent his 3rd home run of the year to right field.
