Men’s Golf Opens Spring Play at Los Vaqueros Intercollegiate

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico – The UAB men's golf team is set to open its spring schedule this week, March 5-7, at the Los Vaqueros Intercollegiate in Playa Del Carmen Mexico at Playa Paraiso Golf Club.
The Blazers enter spring competition with a record of 39-14-2 following two tournament wins in the fall.
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley will serve as tournament in Mexico and along with UAB and UTRGV, the field includes Abilene Christian, Lamar, Northern Colorado, UT Arlington, UTEP, VCU and Wichita State.
UAB is paired with UTRGV and Lamar in Monday's first round. The field will play 18 holes each day and the course is par 72 that plays 6,701 yards.
Head Coach Matt Whall will field a team that consists of Seb Cave, John Bruce, Morgan Slaton, Will Stelt and Garrison Guthrie. Additionally, Paul Bruce will be playing as an individual.
