UAB WBB Travels to Tulsa

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's basketball team travels to face Tulsa inside the Reynolds Center on Wednesday. Tip is set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Blazers enter Wednesday's game 18-8 overall and 9-5 in AAC play, while Tulsa is 18-8 on the season and 8-5 in league play. UAB is half a game back from North Texas and Temple, who are both 9-4 in in the American standings, while Tulsa is a half a game back behind UAB.
The Blazers had four players in double figures in the win against Rice last Saturday. Mia Moore led UAB with 22 points and nine rebounds. Moore was 8-of-15 from the field and 2-of-2 from the long range.
Jade Weathersby accumulated 14 points and was 5-of-8 in field goal range, while Denim DeShields recorded 12 points. Maddie Walsh was the fourth Blazer to score in double figures with 11 points and went 4-of-6 from the field and 1-of-1 from the 3-point range.
Moore ranks first in the conference with 9.2 rebounds, while DeShields is also in first place in assists with 5.2 on the year. For the season, Walsh has recorded 10.0 points per game and Weathersby has tallied 7.8 points per game.
Moore and DeShields lead the Blazers offensively with 15.8 and 12.3 points per game. Moore leads UAB in rebounds with 229, while DeShields leads in assists with 135.
Offensively, Temira Poindexter and Delanie Crawford lead the Golden Hurricane's with 20.1 and 18.9 points per game, respectively. Poindexter ranks second in the conference in scoring with Crawford right behind her at third. Crawford ranks second in 3-point field goals made and third in 3-point field goal percentage.
The game marks the 13th meeting between the two teams, with the Blazers leading the all-time series 11-1. When playing at Tulsa, UAB is 6-0.
