The Blazers Host Temple on Wednesday

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's basketball team is set to host Temple inside Bartow Arena on Wednesday for its Pink Out game to honor Breast Cancer Awareness. Tip is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Blazers enter Wednesday's game 17-7 overall and 8-4 in AAC play, while Temple is 13-10 on the season and 7-4 in league play. UAB is tied for second with Rice in the American, while Temple is tied for third East Carolina and Tulsa.
Kylee Schneringer led the Blazers with 12 points at UTSA and was 4-of-8 from the field. Mia Moore followed behind Schneringer with 11 points and collected six rebounds against the Roadrunners. Moore is averaging 15.3 points per game and ranks third in the AAC with 9.1 rebounds.
Ashton Elley secured nine points and led the team with seven rebounds last Sunday. Denim DeShields, Maddie Walsh and Jade Weathersby each provided seven points for UAB. In addition, DeShields leads the league with 5.2 assists per game.
Moore and DeShields lead the Blazers offensively with 15.3 points and 12.6 points on the year.
Offensively, Temple is led by Tiarra East and Aleah Nelson who are averaging 11.8 and 11.7 points per game. Nelson ranks third in the league with 4.4 assists and East is ninth in the conference with 1.6 steals.
Wednesday's game marks the first time the two teams have met.
