BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's basketball team concludes a two-game road swing this Sunday, Feb. 11, at UTSA. Tip is set for 1 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
The Blazers are coming off a 94-77 win at Tulane on Wednesday and enter the contest 17-6 overall and sit in first place at 8-3 in the league. UTSA is 11-10 overall and 5-5 in the AAC. UAB faced the Roadrunners earlier this season and came away with a 54-53 win inside Bartow Arena.
The Blazers broke a program record by making 20 three-pointers at Tulane and shot 59 percent from the 3-point range.
Maddie Walsh came away with a career-high 28 points and made 10-of-13 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the long range. Walsh is .449 percent from the 3-point range and averaging 9.9 points per game.
Mia Moore notched her eleventh double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Denim Deshields earned her first double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 assists. Moore continues to lead the conference with 9.2 rebounds per game and DeShields ranks first in the AAC with 5.3 assists.
Ashton Elley also was in double figures with 15 points against Tulane. Elley was 5-of-7 from the field goal range and the 3-point range.
Offensively, UTSA is led by Elyssa Coleman and Sidney Love who are averaging 11.8 and 10.8 points per game, respectively.
