Seven Blazers Score in Double Figures as UAB Downs Prairie View

BIRMINGHAM – Seven different Blazers scored in double figures as UAB (5-5) defeated Prairie View A&M by a score of 95-66 at Bartow Arena. Tony Toney led the Blazers with a season-high 15 points.
UAB led from start to finish in the contest despite allowing the Panthers to hang around in the early stages. The Blazers hit seven of their 10 threes in the first half to jumpstart the offense.
The Blazers led by only two points with five minutes to go in the first half, but a 13-2 run pushed the lead to double digits before the break. Prairie View knocked down a three in the final minute to put the score at 39-29 at the midway point.
The Panthers cut UAB's lead to seven at the 15 minute mark, but the Blazer offense was able to pick up the pace. Bradley Ezewiro capped off a 13-2 run with a pair of dunks as the lead grew to 18 points.
Tony Toney and Christian Coleman paced the scoring in the second half with 10 points apiece as the Blazers shot 21-for-29 over the final 20 minutes. The Blazers' lead grew to as many as 35 points in the final moments in the 95-66 UAB victory.

- UAB hit 10 threes in a game for the first time since March 7, 2024 vs. Temple.
- Tony Toney scored 15 points in the win, his highest point total since November 26, 2022 vs. Rhodes.
- Yaxel Lendeborg scored 14 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and dished out six assists. He surpassed 15 rebounds for the 12th time in his career.
- Bradley Ezewiro scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds in his first start as a Blazer.
- Tyren Moore scored 14 points and dished out six assists in his first start at UAB.
- UAB outscored the Panthers 28-2 on fast break points and 44-20 in the paint.
