UAB Women’s Basketball Hosts West Alabama in Season Opener

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's basketball team opens the 2024-25 season on Monday, November 4, at Bartow Arena against West Alabama. Tipoff is set for noon.
The Blazers enter the 12th season under the direction of head coach Randy Norton who has a career record of 195-143 at UAB.
UAB returns nine players from last year's team that finished 18-14 overall and have added five new faces to the roster. Graduate Maddie Walsh is the Blazers leading scorer from last season at 10.2 points per game.
The Blazers had three players score in double figures against Shorter in their one and only exhibition game of the season, which was a 72-64 victory. Sara Bershers led the team with 24 points, while Rayne Tucker had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Tigers are coming off a 2023-24 season in which they finished 6-22 overall and 5-19 in conference play. Senior Julia Rodriguez is the team's leading returning scorer at 9.5 points per game.
In game promotions include Lunch On Us and pizza will be provided while supplies last. Staff and faculty will be able to purchase a $3 ticket to attend the game.
2024-25 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SEASON TICKETS
Season tickets for the 2024-25 UAB women's basketball season are available for $50 for general admission tickets. Reserved courtside seating is also available for $115. For more information about women's basketball ticket packages, call the UAB Athletics Ticket Office at (205) 975-UAB1.
GROUP AND PREMIUM TICKETS
Individual and corporate groups can plan an unforgettable experience during any of UAB's home events at Bartow Arena this season by filling out the UAB Basketball Group Ticket Request Form. Fan experience packages and discounted group tickets are available starting today for a minimum purchase of 15 tickets, and fan experiences at Bartow Arena are available at any home basketball game on a first come, first served basis throughout the season.
