Women’s Basketball Opens the Emerald Coast Classic Against Clemson

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's basketball takes on Clemson on Monday, November 25 to open the Emerald Coast Classic. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. CT.
The Blazers enter Monday's game 3-1, while Clemson is also 3-1 on the season. The game marks the seventh time the two teams have faced each other and UAB leads the all-time series 4-2.
The Tigers are coming off a 77-45 loss to the reigning national champions, No. 1 South Carolina on Wednesday. UAB fell at Jacksonville State on Wednesday, 68-56.
Jade Weathersby led the Blazers with 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Weathersby has scored double figures in all four games this season and recorded three double-doubles out of the four games. Journey Armstead also tallied double digits with 11 points and added six rebounds and four assists.
Weathersby leads UAB with 14.5 points per game while Maddie Walsh is following behind with 12.0 points per game. Armstead is averaging 11.5 points per game while Sara Bershers (11.3) and Tracey Bershers (10.0) are also averaging in double figures. Weathersby is also leading in the rebound category with 11.8 rebounds per game.
Offensively, Clemson is led by Loyal McQueen who averages 16.8 points per game and Mia Moore who averages 12.3 points per game.
