UAB Remains Unbeaten at Home After a 2-2 Draw Versus North Texas

BIRMINGHAM – UAB's women's soccer (7-4-5, 4-2-4 AAC) closed out the regular season with a 2-2 draw against North Texas (7-5-6, 3-3-4 AAC) on Thursday night.
For the first time in program history, the Blazers went unbeaten during the regular season at home.
The Mean Green took an early lead as Mia Bernard netted a goal in the 7th minute. Heading into the half, North Texas held the lead at 1-0.
In the second half, UNT's Devyn Flannery scored in the 65th minute to give the Mean Green a 2-0 lead.
In the 70th minute, Abbey Burns took a free kick and found the back of the net to make the score 2-1. With seven minutes left in the match, Avery Berryman found Burns to net a goal and equalize the match. So far this season, Burns has scored seven goals while the assist marks Berryman's second of the season.
UAB finished tied for fourth in the conference standings and will be the No. 5 seed in the American Athletic Conference Tournament. The Blazers will face No. 4 seed Rice on Monday, November 4 at 4 p.m. CT.
