Women’s Soccer Draws 2-2 at East Carolina

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Junior Jette Zimmer scored both of UAB women's soccer (5-4-4, 2-2-3 AAC) goals to secure a 2-2 draw at East Carolina (6-3-6, 3-2-3 AAC).
The Blazers took an early lead as Zimmer scored in the 7th minute with an assist from Avery Berryman. The assist was Berryman's first of the season and fourth of her career.
The Pirates were able to tie it up in the 31st minute as Sydney Schnell took a shot off her right foot. Schell's goal was assisted by Lucy Fazackerley and Mackenzie Smith.
In the second half, Maiya Clark assisted Zimmer in her second goal of the match in the 65th minute to put UAB up 2-1. Clark's assist was the first of the season and second of her career.
East Carolina evened the match at 2-2 with a late goal in the 88th minute. Isabella Gutierrez found the back of the net with an assist from Smith.
Up next, the Blazers return home to host Tulsa on Thursday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will air live on ESPN+.
