Men’s Basketball Falls at No. 24 FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla. – UAB men's basketball (10-6, 2-1 AAC) fell on the road at Florida Atlantic (12-4, 2-1 AAC) on Sunday afternoon, 86-73.
Florida Atlantic built its lead to double-digits in the first half and held off the Blazers' comeback attempt in the second half to secure the conference victory. Johnell Davis led the Owls with 30 points and eight rebounds.
The Owls used a 10-0 run late in the first half to create some separation and take a 19-point lead into the half at 43-24.
In the second half, the lead stretched to as many as 22 points early in the period. The Blazers battled back into the game in the final 10 minutes. Yaxel Lendeborg found Alejandro Vasquez for a layup to cut the margin to just eight points at the 4:44 mark, capping off an 11-2 UAB run.
The Blazers could not capitalize on their open looks late and the Owls were able to hold off any comeback attempt to take the 86-73 win.

- Efrem "Butta" Johnson scored in double figures for the eighth time this season, adding 13 points.
