The final set saw a close-quarters matchup between UAB and Rice, with UAB trailing 6-8 after a kill from Mia Reese kept the Blazers within two. UAB held Rice to 24 points after Celikkol went on an offensive and defensive run, but it would not prove enough after the Owls took the match 25-20 with a kill.
