Women’s Golf Sits in Third After Two Rounds of Hoover Invite

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's golf team is currently in third place after two rounds of the Hoover Invite as the Blazers play host to nine teams at Hoover Country Club.
Junior Brooke Wagner had an excellent day as she enters Tuesday's final round tied for fourth place overall at +3. Wagner shot an even par 72 in the morning's opening round and was three over in the afternoon's second round (72-75).
Sophomore Grace Sinclair also had a solid showing as she sits inside the top 10 after two rounds. Sinclair is tied for sixth at +4 after shooting 74-74.
Freshman Ceci Lococo is tied for 14th at +8 after shooting a 74 (+2) in the first round and a 78 (+6) in the second.
Anna Krieger (78-81, +15, T34) and Emilia Smith (77-83, +16, T37) rounded out UAB's team efforts on Monday.
UAB also has six players competing as individuals and freshman Tais Moreno is leading those Blazers in a tie for 25th at +13.
Austin Peay is currently leading the tournament at +16 and is followed by Jacksonville (+25), UAB (+29), Samford (+34) and Troy (+35) who round out the top five.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday morning with the final 18 holes. The field will have a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
