UAB Women’s Golf Hosts Hoover on Monday and Tuesday

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's golf team is set to host the Hoover Invitational this Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 18-19, at Hoover Country Club.
The Blazers will welcome eight teams to Hoover which includes Austin Peay, Jacksonville, North Alabama, Queens, Samford, Stetson, Tennessee Tech and Troy.
UAB is coming off a 13th place finish in its first tournament of the season at the Golfweek Fall Challenge and showed vast improvement from last year. The Blazers were just eight strokes away from a top 10 finish and had three of their five golfers finish in the top half of the field.
Head Coach Jesse Lawley will field the same lineup from the first tournament which consists of Anna Kriger, Ceci Lococo, Emilia Smith, Brooke Wagner, and Grace Sinclair. Additionally, UAB will play its six remaining golfers as individuals this week.
The tournament is scheduled for 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Monday is an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The course is a par 72 which plays 6,101 yards.
