BIRMINGHAM – Junior Khavish Varadan of the UAB men's golf team has been named Second Team All-Conference USA, the league announced on Monday.
"I'm so pleased for Khavish. It was by far the most challenging year of his career with a persistent injury but he battled hard to get back to fitness and prove his abilities at the end of the year," said Head Coach Matt Whall.
Varadan, who is one of the most decorated players in school history, has now earned First Team, Second Team and Third Team All-Conference USA honors throughout his career, along with being named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year in 2019-20. Varadan has the second lowest career stroke average in school history.
The Malaysia native was hampered by injury all season long, but managed to play in six tournaments. His season was highlighted by placing fourth at the Conference USA Championship and finishing second at the Carolina Cup in leading the Blazers to the team victory.
Varadan finished the season with a team-best 71.7 strokes average.
