TAMPA – UAB men's tennis (12-5) fell at South Florida (9-9) on Sunday afternoon, 4-3, in a tightly contested match. The Blazers dropped the doubles point for only the fourth time this season, which proved to be the difference.

DOUBLES
The doubles point ultimately came down to a tiebreak on Court Three. Michal Lusovsky and Noah Malige were able to take care of Tortora and Oliveira on Court One to get it started. However, Spyropoulos and Gimenez Perez fell on Court Two, making Court Three the deciding match. USF was able to secure the point with a tiebreaker, winning 7-6 (7-4).

SINGLES
The two teams split the singles decisions. South Florida captured the first singles point with a 6-1, 6-2 win on Court Four by Bruno Olveira. Vojtech Podzemny got the Blazers on the board with a Court Three win (7-5, 6-4) to make it 2-1 before Carlos Gimenez Perez evened the score at 2-2 with a Court Six win (6-3, 6-4).

South Florida jumped back in front with a three-set victory from Elijah Cham on Court Five and then the Bulls sealed it with No. 106 Davide Tortora's 6-2, 7-6 (9-7) win on Court One. Roman Postolka finished the contest with a three set victory on Court Two to put the final score at 4-3.
