UAB Beach Falls to No. 5 LMU, No. 20 South Carolina

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The UAB beach volleyball team fell 3-0 to No. 5 Loyola Marymount and lost 3-1 to No. 20 South Carolina on the first day of action at the March To May in Gulf Shores.

On Court 2, Arden Copping and Mikayla Law-Heese had a standout day. Today's action was played to decision because of weather, and the duo of Copping and Law-Heese were three points away from defeating LMU when the match was called, and then turned around to defeat South Carolina in straight sets.

The Blazers are now 7-8 on the season and will have two opportunities for nationally ranked victories on Saturday by taking on No. 3 UCLA and No. 19 Tulane.

UAB is the host of the event, and nine matches were played today with the following results:
