UAB Beach Volleyball to Host March To May in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The UAB beach volleyball team is set to host the fifth annual March To May tournament this weekend, March 17-19, at The Hangout in Gulf Shores, Ala.
In what has become one of the biggest and most competitive tournaments in the country, this year's nine-team field includes seven nationally-ranked schools including five of which are inside the top 10.
Along with UAB, No. 3 UCLA, No. 4 Florida State, No. 5 Loyola Marymount, No. 6 LSU, No. 10 Georgia State, No. 19 Tulane, No. 20 South Carolina and Mercer will venture to Gulf Shores for the tournament this weekend.
UAB will face LMU and South Carolina on Friday, followed by UCLA and Tulane and Saturday and Georgia State and Mercer on Sunday.
The Blazers enter the tournament at 7-6 overall after going 2-2 in Malibu last weekend. UAB's top duo of Brooke Pertuit and Jasmine Haas were 3-1 on Court 1 last week and are now 7-2 as partners with all of their matches coming on Court 1.
Due to weather moving into the Gulf Coast region, all of Friday's matches have been moved up 30 minutes and the tournament will now start at 7:30 a.m. The remaining matches on Friday will be a rolling start approximately 10 minutes after the conclusion of the previous match. The tournament schedule is as follows:

8:30 a.m. – UAB vs. Loyola Marymount
9:30 a.m. – UCLA vs. South Carolina
10:30 a.m. – Florida State vs. Tulane
11:30 a.m. – Loyola Marymount vs. Georgia State
1:30 p.m. – UCLA vs. LSU
2:30 p.m. – UAB vs. South Carolina
3:30 p.m. – Loyola Marymount vs. Tulane
4:30 p.m. UCLA vs. Florida State
