UAB Volleyball Releases 2023 Spring Schedule

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Volleyball returns to action for their spring docket as they gear up for the 2023 season. The Blazers have five games on the schedule for the spring months, including a revisit against an ASUN contender and a Power 5/SEC road trip.
"So far, we have had a great spring of learning and training. In addition to skill work and practicing during the off-season, the NCAA allows us to play four dates," said head coach Betsy Freeburg. "Each match on this spring schedule will test us in different ways, and we are excited to continue learning through that process."
The Blazers came off a 12-15 season in 2022, where they went 7-7 in C-USA play. The team will enter its first year in the American Athletic Conference in the Fall of 2023. In the meantime, they prepare for the upcoming season through the up-and-coming meetings throughout March and April.
2023 SPRING SCHEDULE
UAB hosts two opportunities at Bartow to preview the 2023 team's performance before the start of the Fall. "We get to host both Samford and Montevallo, so there are two chances to see the Blazers in Bartow this spring. Over a month separates those two matches, so it should be fun for both our players and loyal Blazer fans to see how much we grow during that time."
In addition to the home meetings, the Blazers revisit Kennesaw State and meet with Georgia State in Atlanta on March 25. The Green and Gold just recently played Kennesaw State at Kennesaw in 2022, where they lost in three sets. UAB visits Georgia State, who finished their season 10-22.
UAB then concludes the spring season by meeting Alabama in Tuscaloosa on April 21.
