JONESBORO, Ark. – UAB men's basketball (4-5) fell to Arkansas State (3-7), 87-68, on Saturday afternoon.

Yaxel Lendeborg led the Blazers in nearly every statistical category with 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, five blocks and one steal.

Both teams were red-hot out of the gate. UAB led 33-29 with 7:50 to go in the first half while shooting 72 percent from the field. The Blazers would struggle to close the half strong, however, allowing the Red Wolves to outscore them 17-5 over the remainder of the half. UAB's next field goal did not come until the 2:37 mark after a 13-0 Arkansas State run.

The Red Wolves scored the first five points of the second half, but Yaxel Lendeborg got the Blazers back within six points. ASU answered once again with an 8-0 run to take a 61-47 lead.

Arkansas State led by double digits for the final 11 minutes of the contest. The ASU lead grew to as many as 22 points in the final stages as the Red Wolves picked up the 87-68 win.

UAB allowed over 80 points for the fourth-straight game.
The Blazers have dropped three-straight contests.
Yaxel Lendeborg recorded his second career double-double with 17 points and 10 boards while adding a career high five assists and matching his career best of five blocks.
Tony Toney added a season-high 10 points while shooting 3-for-5 from three.
